AAPL is set to report earnings after the bell today.

While shares show a clean break out at the $296.00 level (which should be near-term support), the 50-day and 200-day moving averages are well below the current trade price (~$280.00 and ~$247.00, respectively); this has the setup of a stock that needs a pullback.

If you have been long the name, first of all, congratulations to you; secondly, you should consider hedging your position. Those long should consider selling the November $260/330 strangle for $11.43 to buy the November $300 put for $8.35. Net credit on the transaction is $3.08.

This gives you an immediate cash hedge of $3.08, protection down to $313.18, and then a hard hedge below $300.00 if it were to break down through the recent break out level. While you are trading some upside for this protection, you still have 5.41% of juice left, which is a nice chunk of change.
