During his speech on the Day of Croatia at the Autumn Fair in Graz (September 26-October 4), organized on Tuesday, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy, Mr. Miljenko Pavlaković, commented that Croatia is a stable partner for investments in the energy sector.

Markus Mair, the President of the Croatian-Austrian Chamber of Commerce, thinks that energy, environmental protection and utility management are the sectors of the future. Austria can start investing as it is slowly starting to recover from the global economic downturn that also affected direct investments worldwide. Mair also said that the recovery will take a few years in order to reach the 2007 levels. Since 1993, Austria has invested approximately 6 billion euro in Croatia, providing 1/3 of all foreign investment to that country. However, the amount of investments dropped 25% last year and a further decrease is expected this year.
