Bad Time to Sell Zagreb Stock Exchange

In an interview with Poslovni Dnevnik, Daniel Nevidal, founder of Interkapital commented that he feels it is not the right time to sell the ZSE.

The crisis in this industry is great and part of the stockholders see ZSE stock as the only liquid value. Interkapital feels that this is really not a good time to sell the ZSE. The idea behind consolidating the stock market, by brining two Croatian stock exchanges together, was not to sell it in three years, but to make it a regional center. PD: The impression you get is that the negotiations with the Vienna and Warsaw stock exchanges have not progressed far from the initial idea. Isn’t it a principle of sale to present the goods at its best? DN: Interkapital is not a part of this process, so I refrain from commenting. However, I can agree that with the crisis bringing down value, these confrontations are only harmful. Because we understand the need of certain financial companies to sell their stocks so they can finance their business and because we want to maintain unity within the industry, we have given our power of attorney to negotiate with potential buyers, but we will not sell our stocks easily.
