The private Austrian bank Krentschker is pulling out of Croatia, its only foreign market. At the end of 2006, Kretschner founded Krentschker vrijednosnice d.o.o in Zagreb, focusing on selling shares of international investment funds and brokerage services on the Zagreb Stock Exchange.

The end goal was to manage larger personal investment portfolios and, in time, apply for a full banking license in Croatia. Krentshcker Board member Michael Vollath confirmed that the operation in Croatia had been sold to former director of Krentschker Securities Vinko Vukadin. The contracts have been signed and now a clearance by the Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (HANFA) is expected.
