At an auction of Ministry of Finance Treasury Bills 53 million euro was registered for one-year bonds at the Croatian National Bank (HNB) middle exchange rate of 7.46 kunas/euro and with an interest rate of 7.8%.

Planned amount of treasury bonds to be offered on the market was 50 million euro. The majority was purchased by the banking sector, totaling 39,2 million euro or 292,3 million kuna. After the auction, the total registered treasury bills in euros were valued at 455 million kunas. In mid-December 2008, the Ministry held an auction in euros for the first time along with the kuna auction. That auction registered a total of 296.3 mil. euro for the one-year bills at the middle HNB exchange rate of 7.18 kunas/ euro and with a 7.95 % interest rate.
