At last week’s session of the Croatian National Bank (HNB) Advisory Council, an announcement surprised local bankers, which stated that the HNB deposited 1.34 billion kunas of 3.39 billion kunas profit into the State Budget.

“It is incredible that the Central Bank registers profits as the largest commercial bank on the market that has the largest depository and credit portfolio,“ stated a high level manager of one of the largest banks in the country, on condition of anonymity. However, from circles close to the government, a totally diametrically opposite opinion is had. “Such results by the Central banks around the world are totally normal”.
