According to the opinion of the Vice President of the Union of Metal Industry Workers, Mr. Vedran Dragičević, the sale of the Split Steelworks factory, owned by the Polish company Zlomrex, is occurring at a very slow pace.
While the financial accounts of the factory have been blocked for two months, Zlomrex is receiving new interested buyers. According to information from Poslovni Dnevnik, in addition to the Russian Estare that is still performing the due diligence of the company, the Italian Beltrame and another Russian investor are interested in the purchase. Two years ago, Beltrame applied to the tender by the Croatian Privatization Fund for the purchase of the steelworks factory, but their bid was not accepted because of the inadequate approach to the privatization tender. They offered one kuna for the stocks, 111 million kunas of recapitalization investment and an additional 220 million kunas for severance packages.
