It was not just the Chinese delegation that visited Croatia at the end of last week, but also the Hungarian, namely the entire Management Board of MOL, led by the Chairman of the Board Zsolt Hernadi.
Ten days after their official management takeover of the company, they met on Friday with the Management Board of Ina to discuss their vision of Ina’s future development. Part of this delegation visited the offices of the Croatian Government. Poslovni Dnevnik was informed that the MOL managers’ presentations, including Hernadi’s, placed an emphasis on common goals and partnership regarding the future management of the two companies. The organizational structure was presented by Mr. Laszlo Geszti, the new Chairman of the Ina Management Board and Mr. Bojan Milković, the chairman of the Committee of Executive Directors. Inside sources pointed out that both of the speakers had very good motivational presentations from which one can conclude that the new management will take new approaches to doing business within Ina. This could more immediately be seen in the new organizational structure where a greater role will be given to the executive directors who will have a significantly increased responsibility in making decisions and achieving results of their sectors. In his first interview (Lider magazine), immediately after his appointment as head of Ina, Geszti made it clear that in the next two to three months the company will be revitalized and that they are already working on rationalizing costs. He confirmed that they are expecting a foreign loan that should cover the illiquidity problems of the company and that they are seeking new partners to invest in certain projects. “We will absolutely improve the efficiency of the company’s business practices. We hope that in three years we will modernize the refineries and increase our profits. In case of favorable circumstances, with the finalization of the Sisak and Rijeka refinery projects we will profit long-term. These projects have to be finished by the end of 2011. The modernization will cost us more than 1.3 billion USD”, pointed out Geszti.
