According to the Russian newspaper Kommersant that cites unnamed small shareholders of the company (Lenta) as their source, Wal-Mart is interested in purchasing 51% of Lenta for about 650 million dollars.
According to unofficial sources, Kommersant also writes that this supposes the 35% shares of founder Olega Žerebcova, 11% held by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and 6% of small shareholders. The second owner, August Meyer, holds 36% of shares. Considering Todorić still has ambitions of turning Agrokor into a recognizable multi-national company, it is feasible the lobbying activities are silently but “aggressively” working on the Lenta takeover.
